This is a piece of Bismuth (Bizimuth). This is part of a man made sample that I purchased at Lapidary show.
Here are a couple of other looks at my 'sample'. Not sure what purpose there is to making this element in a lab other that just to say that it is possible to accomplish.

I love the purple and blue colors you picked up in the reflections. I have no idea what this is, but it's neat. The only thing I can think of is that they are some kind of molds or something.
whew boy this jumped out at me after seeing 2-3 blurry abstracts before it. i love the textures and colors but for the life of me i can't even make a guess. hope i can come back and look for another 5 minutes after i finish voting. 7
