 What a hard choice to choose the best of 2010. I took so many photos and I learned so much! But I think I loved this one the best. It's a focus blended image of 4 shots. It's something I was practicing over the summer with many different flowers but I loved the natural light on this one. Taken July 4th, 2010 on the Cascade Creek trail that starts by Lake Grandby, CO. We saw rare wild orchids on this day too. A great hike for mountain wild flowers.

Fantastic detail on the petals. I thought the Columbine had more blue? Unusually dark. Interesting.

They grow in the shade under the trees & it is so nice when they are struck by a stray sunbeam like this. The shadows are lovely. Good job.
