I do see the thirds that you might think would follow the rule of thirds but the main subject is not in a rule of thirds position because he is too close to the edge of the frame. The use of thirds does not lead you toward the main subject, the person.
Nice subject, and nice job fitting the challenge. But this photo feels very over sharpened to me. For instance, look at the antennae and notice how there is this vey distinct white edge around them that isn't natural? That's what really keying me into an over-sharpened effect.
