Such a shame that we have all of this lovely editing ability and filters and effects and can't use them without punishment in DPC because this shot and your processing really made this a lovely shot. This truly caught my eye and made me smile. I do hope that you'll print it out and frame it because it's worthy of a beautiful spot on a wall as a lovely piece of art! :)
Well it does look like the impressionist with quick brush strokes. Love the motion of the girl and the ocean waves and the texture of the sandy shore. However much that it does invoke impressionist paintings it is too much on the processed side and far removed from being recognized as originating from a photograph. I have a feeling that some are logging the plaint that this is more 'photoshopped' than photograph. There are ways to achieve the painterly effect (called impressionist photography) without resorting to heavy processing. Lensbaby is something I have see other DPCer's use to capture movement and mood but that an attachment to the camera that may or may not fit your camera (and maybe budget for the now). Still, I think the composition is strong and very appealing as an impressionist painting to hang on the wall.
I know that there will be a few fans of this style of editing and there will be those who will say that it's totally overprocessed but, I LOVE IT! Very nicely done! 9
Some will ding you for it not looking like a photograph in a photography challenge... but I love the treatmen! I dislike her right arm looking so different than her left. Some advanced editing could fix that. (not voting)
