Immersion is the state of consciousness where an immersant's awareness of physical self is diminished or lost by being surrounded in an engrossing total environment; often artificial.
Well, the engrossing total environment here certainly is artificial! This is St Nicholas Church from 1850, dipped in the artificial lake Mavrovo, built around 1953 (the dam). The church was submerged as the valley was flooded, but never completely gone. The roof and steeple were always visible. According to the locals, the saint Nikola wouldn't allow it to be gone. In recent years with all the climate changes it's mostly like this... just out of reach. Some years ago it was completely out of water, you could walk inside at your own risk (collapsing roof). I believe the walls were rebuilt at that time. Not sure what the stones were but I thought they made a nice foreground for my shot.
Viveza to the rescue, brought out some details and color, and darkened the sky to compliment the red roof. I think I didn't go over the top with processing.

I thought this was nicely done - not overprocessed, lovely composition, and an interesting subject. Thanks for the additional information in the notes, too!
