Congrats on the great score and top finish. First the best of the month and now the year from the same shoot. Nice work. I disagree about it not being eye candy, though. It most certainly is. I'd love to know what shutter speed you used to get this shot. Not that I find myself around surfers often, but when I am I want to be ready.

A stunning ribbon contender and challenge favorite. A nitpick is that the wave appears to be the main subject instead of the surfer, but oh that wave! It makes me wish I'd done more dodging and burning in my own entry.

Fantastic action shot! Love the 'electric' colors of greens and blues in the water - normally wouldn't like too saturated look but here it just works - maybe because the action is 'electric'/high energy. Great details on the wave including all the ripples and the dropplets flying about. Nice catch of the wave curl and crash as well and the poise of the surfer taking it to the max as he rides.
