The purpose of this photo can be expressed in the sentence: "This land is my land". I tried to catch the spirit of the Pianura Padana near the Po river, with its peculiar melange of ground and water. I didn't need any particular post-production; I just cropped a little and adjusted the contrast.

Thank you everybody!!
If someone told me that my photo would have placed 9th out of 300, I wouldn't have believed him.
I'm still astonished (I don't know if the sentence is correct, but I think you know what I mean).
This one is sorta just...odd to look at. It's not readily obvious initially where it is the water ends. Besides, it's strange for trees to be growing out of water like that. Really just pulls me into things.
I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: Amazing effect generated by your POV here, the repeating pattern and the ambiguity as to where the water/air interface is at any point makes the shot. I like your stark(ish) processing, it serves to preserve detail throughout the depth of the image.
Critical stuff: Not much at all.
Overall: An interesting shot - thanks for offering it up.
I keep coming back to your picture. Chekhovian. I am missing something though. It looks just a touch flat like a constructed stage set before the lighting designer's touch. Nevertheless, top 10 for me.
