taken on Duval street, Key West, on July 31. By the time I got back to the RV to upload, it was 12:30a Aug 1 and couldn't enter it in the free study. Really happy for this challenge to enter it, it's my favorite from 2010.
There were other gay protesters there as well, off camera. Another guy with a "fuck this guy ----> " tshirt and other gay men kissing. It was quite a sight.

This is an automatic 10 from me. I have often thought much the same thing as the fellow on the right, and for much the same reasons, when reading some of the rant threads here at DPC.
Your 10 is not just a bonus for your shock value BTW, it's a considered judgement on the merits of the photograph as documentary art. There is much more going on than just the 'joust-of-signs'; there is an accusing finger (ironically pointing at 'God'), and there is the gay kiss as well (amounting to another kind of finger). And the 'PHOBIA' t-shirt. All of it contrasted with the serene ignorance of the perpetrator.
I remember this from a side challenge, great photojournalistic shot! Couldn't have asked for a better placement of your characters. 10 for content, 5 for technicals but I'll give you a 9 anyway.
im no so sure the quality of the photo is any good, maybe a little overdone in post or something, but wow!! right place right time. Killer moment. 8. godhatesfags.com is the home page for their church by the way. how classic is that?
What can be said here.......How tiny is that guy kissing the other? And what the H-E double hockey sticks is the homophobe doing with a knot in his shirt?
This shot really made me stop and stare! I LOVE the statement that this shot is making and that there is a message behind it as opposed to the usual DPC Advertising shot style! It's SO refreshing to see a real photo of realism and making a statement...unposed for....un-set up without lighting set ups and angles and tripods. I figure you took this out a car window??? BRILLIANT!!! If I could give you a 20, I would...but, I can only give you a 10....you have my 10 on this!!!! :) Congrats on a fabulous shot!!!! KUDOS!
I have a feeling this will be completely lost on non-Americans (and, unfortunately, Americans). There's a whole website devoted to shots like this. Great stuff.
