I took this picture in an upper balcony of a library that had both table lamps and hanging lights from a high ceiling. I wanted some contrast between background lamps and my main subject lamp. There were several other pictures I wanted to try, some with the lamp interacting with studious students and some pretty girls. But alas, this was last minute and late at night so it was difficult.

The lower lights in the background remind me of the lights you see on the floor at the edge of a stage. Good placement of the lamp. Good color composition with the lamp as well as the background. Title is very fitting.
