Big thanks to all the voters, wasn´t expecting such a high score. And thank you all for the comments, I really enjoyed them.

The amount of stars you captured is astonishing! And the fact that we can identify the Pleiades is quite miraculous.

Nice job! I believe this is a real solder on patrol.

I had this one pegged for a high score. Pleased to see it with a nice strong 6 and in the top 10.

I like this shot a lot. I think at the challenge size (800 pixels) it could benefit from a tighter crop.

I really really like this, it's very lonley yet proud feeling at the same time. The only thing that I would have liked better is if you put just a tiny bit more light on the soldier, not much because you'd loose the wonderful feel of this maybe a very weak flashlight with a klenex over it.. Any how that's just my opinion. Still giving it 8.. Good luck!

One of my two favorites. That's the constellation Taurus and its cluster the Pleiades, just over his left shoulder. Amazing connection of earth (snow or desert, I'm not sure) and cosmos - and soldier. 10 from me.

Great shot. Very nice. I love the low angle and the starry night sky. This image has an almost 3D like look to it.

One of the most unique entries on DPC.

Very nice image. I fear that that soldier is putting his life at risk by being silhouetted against the horison...
