Very nice colors combination and good tight crop. With him looking a bit down at the water, I think I would have chosen a composition with the bird in the upper/right third so we get to see more of what he is looking at.

Less DOF would have made this a wonderful shot. Great focus on the eye and nice detail in the feathers.
