I don't think there is any focus problem here but a bit of motion blur given the shutter speed and 2x or 3x telephoto effect. The delicacy of the hair is retained which is the most telling evidence to me. This is a beautifully natural capture and to my eye quite powerful in its spontaneousness even with the attention of the subject to the photographer.

Haha - it's a little out of focus because I wasn't using my tripod! :) I posted this straight from the camera for this thread, but I did some editing on another copy and contrasted and sharpened the whole picture, then fuzzed the edges to make it look a little more consistent. Most of what I've been doing in edit is trying to fix the mistakes I make in the actual capture. Still learning! Some day I'll get the hang of this photography thing. Thanks for the advice.
