Seven Keys to Baldpate
(1913)
A novel by
Earl Derr Biggers

A famous author comes to a summer mountain resort in the dead of winter, determined to find peace and quiet to write his next book. But before his first night is out, a steady stream of unexpected visitors begins to fill the hotel...men and women with stories of love, loss, and flight...none of them telling the truth. Before the week is out, there will be gunfire, bribery, fights in the snow, and hidden truths unmasked. "Seven Keys to Baldpate" is a mystery that will leave you guessing to the end. Earl Derr Biggers penned "Seven Keys to Baldpate" long before he created his most famous character, Chinese detective Charlie Chan, yet in its day it was a popular best-seller and became the source for no less than seven films.

One comment about "only seeing six keys". Guess the person didn't look at the image very well. I ignored the comment.

The commenter who only saw "6" reviewed the image. She revised her comment and may have upped her score. I marked her comment as helpful. My score went down today.
I think the criticism of "busy background" is fair. But, this was not a set-up shot in a studio. It's real life and it is what it is.

I always totally ignore any comments from Kenskid (and his best buddy rugman).

Uncanny coordination of comments, attitude and behavior. Hope the SC notices this sometime soon.

One is hidden behind the others so it looks like six at first glance. Also, the trees in the background make it noisy and difficult to concentrate on the keys.

It is a neat set of keys, but the whole image is too busy for my liking.

I really like the keys and the structure elements, but the busy bg diminishes their impact.
