If you consider this photo in relation to the differences between it and the one next to it, the impact is reduced, since they're virtually identical. Some discussion on what you did to set up light, how you posed the model, and what all this means to you would help in appreciating it more.
Hi Louis. This was shot using a single silver reflector and available natural light. The model held the piece of yellow fabric above her head and the light was reflected through the fabric onto the right side of her face. This was my first attempt at a model shoot using only available natural light (and a reflector) - trying to learn something new. I'm also not a fan of shooting people so also trying to push myself in that area to.

Nice job. I personally like this better then the second place one but thats personal preference for you huh. Nice work. Love the detail i her eyes it is captivating.
The eyes on both of the very similar submissions feel a bit over processed to me and this one seems like the vibrancy and saturation of the yellows is a bit high, possibly intentionally.
As I commented on the other similar portrait, I like both for different reasons. I think you caught the eye contact wonderfully in this shot. But I favor the closer framing of the other one. This is also nice. It's a toss up, I think both will do very well.
