 my friend john coaches a girl's softball team .. all about 11 or 12 years old .. they were playing this boys team yesterday ..
i took a heap of action shots but wasnt that happy with the results .. i have new respect for sports photographers now .. getting great action shots when you cant really be in the 'correct' position is very difficult .. especially when the sun isnt where you want it to be .. !!!

Yep I think position in sports photography is everything, plus a big lens helps too! : )
