France is a country with a wealth of architectural beauty. Two-thousand year-old Roman ruins, thousand year-old churches. The country is absolutely drowning in architectural excellence.
And then there's Royan. This town in Southwestern France was almost completely destroyed during the second World War, and then rebuilt in those heady, post-war years when you didn't have to be beautiful if you were a building; you just had to be THERE.
So much the better... what stands out in a country where every building is beautiful? A church as ugly as sin.

Very nice. I like the diffusion created at the bottom from the widening shafts of light. I'm wondering if there might be a way to increase some contrast overall without losing the diffusion.
