Shot this real quick a couple of days before going out of town. I dont usually do still life photography and when I do I dont do it very well so this was a pleasant surprise.
The sunflower is fake. The background is a sheet of wallpaper taped to the wall and the little things on the stool are stones. I should probably go down into the studio to see if it is still setup. I cant remember if I cleaned up afterwards.

Love this! The whole challenge really is nice. Congratulations on the blue....and will you post a color photo of that wall paper? I love the texture it adds.
I didn.t vote on this challenge but this would have got 10 from me! If this is how you do still life badly, you will blow us out the water when you do it well!
I looked at all of the entries and this one is sooo what you would expect to see when you hear the words still life, but that is not why I think it is probably the best. I like, over all of the rest, the use of dark and white spaces. I like the extreme contrasts balanced in both larger and smaller areas. Good eye.
Gorgeous! Perfectly composed and lit. Love all the different textures (fruits, flowers, glass, textile), and how the reflect or absorb light. Very well done, with the perfect bg. Front page.
