Maybe from a different angle with different lighting, this picture might do more. Cropped the way it is, it just doesn't do much for me. It does seem to have potential as a subject.
This isn't a particularly inspirational tree. It looks rather scrubby, especially in comparison to the trees in the background. This isn't a great composition. It would be more effective if somehow the tree was actually isolated as the only one object in the shot.
