Really taken on Aug 3rd.. Just a lucky opportunity as I was out watching a friend fly his helicopter..
I have no idea how this will do, I suspect the birds blend too well by DPC standards, but I've also been trying to give the average DPC voter more credit for appreciating subtlety... We'll see how it goes.

I believe that the birds need to stand out from the background more in order for this picture to be effective. A shallow DoF would have done wonders.
Its a good photo, but the background becomes far to distracting, it overwhelms the birds. 5
