Me and my wife went on another trip to Landmannalaugar area. It is such a great place for a landscape photographer that I could spend a month there and always have something new to photograph.
The black sand deserts, colorful geothermal rocks, rich vegetation and mountainous interior makes this one of my favorite places to visit.
The lower lying areas have unusually rich vegetation for it height above sea level (around 600m). Other areas in Iceland at this elevation are usually very poor of vegetation. It is likely that the shelter from the steep mountains provide protection for the vegetation from the restless arctic wind which in other places turns less protected areas into lifeless mountain deserts.
This shelter is also great for me as it often creates perfect reflections on the numerous small lakes in the area.
Love this landscape! Well done. The white flowers are wonderful and just sets this image off! Reflection in the water very nice too. 9! good luck for a result.
