Water lily at the Birmingham Botannical Gardens, Birmingham, Alabama. It was slightly overcast and near dusk when I shot this, so the lighting was very soft and even.
WOW! My first ever ribbon in a free study. Really appreciate everyones great comments and votes!

Such a beautiful shot. Congrats on the ribbon, but it goes far beyond that. It's truly stunning. I was out of town and missed this challenge and I'm so glad I caught this. Excellent.
Congrats on a brilliant capture. I rated this pic the highest in my voting and it's a first for me to do so on a flower. I thought I went a bit off my rockers but seeing it now on the front page is a relief..because this is really good. Congrats on the ribbon to
Ooooh, what a treat to see one of your flower shots on the front page with a ribbon & all. WTG! The color & detail are wonderful. I keep waiting for Medusa to moove!
I think the title is a stroke of genius. It complements the picture very nicely and makes me look at the picture again and again. Ofcourse the pic stands on it's own merit too. Undeniably top 10.

This combines a wonderful color palette with spot on sharpness and subtle composition to create an attention grabbing image of a simple subject. I'll be back after the voting to see the photo data on this. Hope (and expect) it to do really well!
