the background doesn't work at all and the lighting is very harsh for the softness of the subjects! Also because they are central it looks very much like a snapshot.
i like the idea.
how about a lighter or dark background to give more focus to subject and proper lighting? ;)

This would have worked better with a closer crop I think. You could have removed the breaks in the background on each side with the closer crop. I like the sentiment though :)
