great pictures of the set up..you made a comment about the mess...maybe next time put a paper towel on the little dish/tray to absorb the "splash" of the food coloring...just a suggestion...one more how did you get the ends of the eyedroppers so smooth?
The mess was mostly all over my hands from mixing colours and filling pipettes - they looked like they'd been tie-died! The droppers hold the liquid ok, so long as you don't jolt them so if you are careful they stay smooth and bubble free (for a little while at least...).
