Yes, you probably would have done much better in the weathered challenge with this. I think many voters did not see the spiral shell as a form of a sphere. Sometimes the voters are much too literal. The image does appear a little soft, as if the focus was not quite right, or it was magnified during cropping. I do like your use of negative space here. Perhaps a little more contrast on the lighting so the effect of the shell dissolving into the blackness would be even stronger. |
