I found myself playing a bit with the colours of the photo, as well as the hue, saturation and brightness ... somehow I know this will come back to bite me ...

Fits the challenge topic better than many of the other entries, but could use a little more visual oomph. I think some levels, curves, saturation and contrast could help it a bit.
