Saw your post in the sub club thread. I would certainly hold off doing anything with de-saturation. Maybe just me, but I think this practice of selective desaturation is somewhat gimmicky. Sure, Spielberg pulled it off, but on DPC, I personally do not think it really works. At least I have yet to see an example that would make me give it a high score.
I do think framing the headstone a bit tighter may have helped. You do have some negative space at the top so can afford to lose a little bit. I wonder if you had placed the rose at the foot of the gravestone, rather than on the top? It feels a bit awkward there somehow and not natural.
