This was taken at the Art Museum in Philadelphia in the antique gun section.
The young man was behind a plexiglass cabinet and I put my lens to the
front of the cabinet and clicked.

Wow... I didn't see this in voting. Exceptional shot. I am normally terrible at this sort of shooting, but really this is great in so many ways. The layout of the guns, his placement between them, and the exhibit identification number right on his cheek. It provides a nice commentary to things, including a human as an item within an expo of guns, especially with his deadpan expression.
Alright, first thing I think of when looking at this is "antique". That's good since I'm assuming that's the feel your going for. The tones, hue and detail all play into this and were done very well. The muted tones on the guns are beautiful.
The real start of the photo is the model. His expression, the button on his shirt, the number on the glass projected onto his face, all icing on the cake. The guns going back seem infinite, and really make the shot fantastic. Great work!
The first thing I can see here is that the photo is a bit too grainy for my taste. Maybe that was intended, but I think, there could be a bit less.
Secondly, The tones on the subject seem a bit TOO muted. Just as on the bottom-left gun, there could be a tad more contrast.
That's all I can say. Great work, fabulous photo, and this definitely deserved a higher score.
Thanks so much for such supportive and positive comments. I was afraid that the plexiglass case was too cloudy
for a good photo. The number 15 on his cheek was an identification number for one of the rifles in the case.
I was so close to making my first 6 that the final score was disappointing although I am so grateful it
was not in the 4's. Thanks everyone!
Such an effective portrait. He has a slightly sinister look in his eyes, which is amplified by the guns around him. I dont know why, but I really like the "15" on his cheek as well. Great shot.
I really like the creative way you have photographed him through the gun case. The treatment is coming off slightly flat to me, though. Due to the view through the glass, I'm sure. Certainly worth a positive vote from me.
