The more I look at this image the more I like it. Vermilion Lakes is quite popular amongst photographers of the Canadian Rockies (myself included). This take almost reminds me of a Rorschach inkblot.
I don't recall if I used an ND filter to get the long exposure but it sure killed any ripples in the water and got the mirror like reflection in the water.

Beautiful! Where in the Rocky Mountains is this? Rocky Mountain National Park is like our home away from home, and I think it's not from our parts. It is very striking! I love it!
Spectacular reflection. I'm not crazy about the sky, though. I'm not sure if it's the color or how the clouds seem to have a bit of a shadow against it, but it looks like a backdrop. Still, a stellar image.
