I find the city scene in the background to be very good. I just don't care for the choice of foreground subject. I find few things less appealing than man-made wavebreaks along the coast. I also find the antenna in the upper right to look out of place. But, I suppose that's just personal preference. I think you're on to something with that city view background. I'd try it again with a more interesting foreground subject.
