My aim was to maximise the length of exposure to smooth the fast moving tidal River Thames and to eliminate the hundreds of in-shot people. To achieve this on a very bright day, I put just about every piece of glass I own in front of the 18-55 kit lens! - Included an ND2, an ND4 plus Cokin P153 and 2 Cokin Grads! I cranked the aperture to a far from ideal f/32 and ISO to 100. This enabled a 30 second exposure, with no blown highlights.
