I'm going to guess this won't do too well. This was a really hard challenge for me to come up with any ideas that I could even partially pull off.
The photo is simply a rubber ducky floating around the hot tub (low jets).
The processing is what really makes it Loch Ness like. In RAW, I cropped a little, changed brightness, highly decreased the shadows, increased contrast a bit, and increased color saturation.
After RAW, I changed the lightness of red and yellow to make them dark. Then I desaturated the photo, followed by a bit of Box blur, and added some noise (via a pointalize layer set to darken at mid opacity).
Not a great reproduction, but the description does say to re-create it in my own way. I just hope it's not a personal worst! Here is the photo I was basing this off: //en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Lochnessmonster.jpg
