A nice action shot. You've nicely frozen the surfer, but I think it could have been even stronger if you could have used an even shorter shutter speed to freeze the water.
Nice take on the challenge .. surfing defines my city too - I haven't entered but was thinking of shooting the same type of shot. Nicely photographed, especially the whites.
