 Sat myself infront of our tempory paper wall (renovating) and used a single light source (halogen reading lamp) positioned behind the tripod mounted camera. Camera set to Bulb and trigger with a cabled remote.

Well composed and balanced. I like the tone chosen. I think a bit less depth of field might have enhanced the focus on your piercing gaze
