INITIAL RESPONSE: Appealing .. blue .. a little too centered ? Fit the challenge ? Some 'japanese'/zen touch
COMPOSITION-CONTENT - Nice composition/Reflection .... appropriate color (is it post processing or just natural blue being 'pushed') ? It looks a little too 'centered to me (the 'deck') but could not think about something better. Very nice touch brought by the snow.
BACKGROUND-None/Fog. Very nice foggy atmosphere. I love the fog hiding everything in the background.
CAMERA WORK-TECHNICAL- Nothing special. Good exposure.
DIGITAL PROCESSING - TECHNICAL - I liked that you did not 'push' the contrast. Tones of blues are nice and appropriate.
MY OPINION ON THE PHOTO - I like the 'zen' impression a lot, the quietness of the atmoshpere ... almost magical and 'oout of time'.
I would have like taking that one myself ! Congratulations.
Thank you all for the votes, and for the words of encouragement.
For those who mentioned that it was not on topic, please note that the challenge description stated that it was for a newpaper or MAGAZINE covers. So, that pretty much opened the topic up to just about anything. Mine was destined for National Geographic or something like Fog Monthly.
This is a really great reflection, but the symmetry is just a little off. The whole image seems like it needs to be shifted up slightly and tilted clockwise about 1 degree, though the latter part may just be an optical illusion.
I've got to read the article to see what is so mysterious about this fog. It's a beautiful picture, with beautiful reflection in the water. Great shot. PTL9
Great colors. Love the reflex. Not sure how journalistic this is, but it is a cool photo. Lighting and exposure are great. I don't know if I'd have framed this quite like this though. Good shot - Inspzil
Very nice picture, and yes mysterious looking. I love the stillness, and the color. Quality looks good too...no artifacts, etc, that I can see. It seems to me there is a structure to the right just above the pier. I can't make out what it is, which makes it more intriguing. Good job! Hope to see this on a magazine cover! 8 Grayce
What a stunning shot, beautiful colour and reflections. Think it would have done very well in the Blue challenge, but a little weak on the photojournalism theme. Really is a gorgeous picture though. Natasha
OH, I KNOW you are hating to see the Blue challenge this week with this awesome shot already submitted. I love this thing. Awesome color, good blending of water/sky and no reflection line. My second 10 of the week. 10 nards656
Very nice colors and reflection, very beautiful. Not only would this be nice gracing the cover of a magazine, but also framed on a wall. -10- CreativeDotCom
Wow, an amazing picture, but I just don't see where it fits in with photojournalism. Would've been an awesome submission for this week's challenge though (Blue).
I don't see the fog.. do you see the fog... no I don't see the fog... do you see it? .... but what a greaat pic nonetheless! Knowing the DPC voters this should make the top 10. :o) kosmik
Wonderful shot. I'm sure you are kicking yourself that the 'blue' challenge is this week :) Not sure I really get a photojournalism vibe from this though.
Other than the challenge issue, I love this. Very well framed and exposed. Now go and do it again for next week! Gordon
