This is a very creative idea. I think the image would benefit from the subject being in sharper focus. Also you might have metered off the dark background as your subject looks a little dark. Or a flash might have helped. Post processing might have included some dodging to lighten up the crystals in the front.

An autolevel adjustment would've helped bring out the whites in the highlights. Nice composition, just a little dark.
