This hummingbird is not afraid of human nor camera sound. After she visited the flowers, she was curious and hovered in front of my lens for a while. That gave me the chance to focus and shoot this photo. All the flowers are therefore not in focus.
Unlike my other hummingbird photos, this one was not cropped. That makes the title more appropriate. I wish hummingbird lovers feel her joy in her paradise.
Many thanks to all the comments and votes!!
I thought all RAW adjustments are basic, didn't know there are some odd rules here. Bummer!

for educational purposes (newbie here) I am trying to figure out what you did to DQ. Im not quite understanding and dont see anything that looks off... if you are willing can you post the original or perhaps explain it to me a bit??
In the RAW adjustment window of Photoshop CS3, I used the "Lens Vignetting" slide bar.
I DQ`d mine for almost the same reason (I added mine in Lightroom)... pity you lost the ribbon.

I'm belatedly commenting to say how happy I am to see this on the front page. Fabulous work with a well-deserved ribbon. In my book, it really couldn't be better.
This is an awesome hummer shot. I am only ever able to shoot them with a feeder in the picture or without any context. Having the flowers makes it great!
Ohmygoodness! Now I see why my hummingbird got tossed in the barely mediocre heap :) Wow! Having chased at least 4 bazillion hummingbirds. I can't even tell you how impressed I am with this photo! MEGA CONGRATULATIONS!
Oh Billy...such rare and beautifully natural vision may only come from your expert eye! Your mischievous ability to surprise and delight is always filled with such joy. Congratulations on your ribbon and this inspirational entry!
Stunningly clear and great BG (bokeh for the nouveau poseur).
Prefocused or AF?
Aperture P or Shutter P? I'm guessing SP @ 1/1000th or more?
What tripod and head where you using? Don't tell me it was handheld!
Hope you don;t mind the Q's, all in the art of learning!
Beautiful Picture! Am TOTALY impressed that you completely stopped motion on these little speed demons, your background blurr is just wonderful, feels like you are leading my eye from the front to the back of this photo!
