THis is very 'Tourist Brochure' but I find the fading border a little distracting in this type of shot. The subject is bold, and has lots of straight lines. The soft border dosn't fit that theme IMHO...

And indeed Sicily does have magnificant ruins! This is a good interpretation, but sometimes bracketing exposures gives a better chance at good lights and darks.
