I have to agree with the comments so far... I did end up making it far too dark, still figuring out the B&W conversion and I was in a panic at the time as I got it in at 3 minutes before the entry closure... Nothing like procrastination lol

For a scene that's obviously well lit, the overall darkness is overbearing, as if heading home was a voyage into gloom...

Whatever is in the foreground here, it would have been good to get more of it to give the photo more perspective.

love the reflection, which is the leading line but overall it's just a shade too dark

I really like the reflections on the lake, and the sun rays. What's hurting this photo (to me) is how dark the rest of the water and the land are.

not sure how you meant the title, but I see this and read it as, heading home, means rising home to heaven
