This shot looks like it was inverted in post processing to get that x-ray look to it. I am sure you have this comment already but I think this is more black on white. I am going to take for granted that this fits the challenge since there are no details given. Also you should take advantage of the full image size available to you.

I think for this challenge a black background is called for. On my screen the image looks like it needs more contrast and sharpness.

The size killed this one, PLUS although the orchid is black, it's on white.
