I didn't look at this challenge. If I had, this would have been my pick to win. The simplicity is very charming. It has to be one of the most balanced compositions I've ever seen. It also demonstrates when it is ok to not follow the rule of thirds.
How cool! Wish that you'd cropped a little tighter on the top (or shown a little more of the bottom) to really complete the mirror image. Dot on top right is distracting, but probably something you can clone out for a print.
grass on the bottom left corner breaks the symmetry of the photo. the square at the center of the photo is distracting. i like the subject and over all composition, the plants have a nice curve, and the pink flowers add a nice touch of color.
This is a really interesting shot. Water reflections like this have been done before, but what catches my eye is the "unnatural" traingualr and diamond shapes created in the center of the swooping curves of the water plants. This combination of organic forms and rigid geometry works great. nicely seen and captured!
This is such a great shot. It's amazing that the water is so smooth. Once the contest is over, you might want to clean up a couple of those stray spots, but this photo is really excellent regardless. Nice job!
Super capture..unfortunately, you are going to lose marks from a few voters for noise showing up in the water which is a shame as this is a top picture.
oh my. this is lovely. What a perfect scene. the contrast between the straight lines (square) and the curved is wonderful. the pink side of the square repeats the pink flowers, the yellow in the center anchors each halp in the middle. The muted colors work well to enhance the Zen ness of the image. So very nice. Not quite sharp enough for a ribbon, you'll have to settle for a top ten.
