OK, I feel comfortable enough to be able to say this: I REALLY WANTED A RIBBON *weep!* But I'm absolutely not complaining...my highest score and finish ever!! Thank you all SO MUCH for all of the great comments. They were really a pleasure to read. I really fuzzed and contrasted the picture quite a bit on purpose -- I know it hurt me, but I know it made for a much better photograph. You can see the original and some outtakes at //www.relliott.net/dp_technology.asp --- All in all, a great week. I have to give all kinds of props to my big toe which, with the help of my remote, took this picture. ;) Now to go dig up my old smurf toys for this week's challenge. Thanks again!! Rob
My only 10 this week and my only photo I commented on. Truly one of the best photos I have seen on this site and I have been here 7 months and voted on nearly 5 thousand photos. Congratulations. 10...hokie
I like this very much because it has a strong initial impact. At first, as it was loading I felt disgust, because I am disgusted when people (even animals for that matter) are bound. Slavery, ughhhhhhhh! As it continued to load and I saw the whole picture I smiled. How clever! A siimple composition with a powerful statement. Excellent! Technically: I like the lighting, especially the way it hits, and highlights the knuckles, accenting the clenched fist. Removing most of the color was a good choice too. Makes it more...um....stark! A stark reality. A concept well thought out and executed. Great job! 10 Grayce aka Gracious
This is a very creative and artistic shot! Even the grain adds to it! Lighting and contrast seems a bit harsh on the knuckles, but overall a 10 for the idea and effect! Natasha
There haven't been to many pictures this week with this kind of deep underlying theme. In fact, I can't think of any. With the soft focus, in B&W, it has a pretty deep message about our dependence on computers. Great shot - Inspzil
I know what you mean! Your photo has a lot of impact and truth. The hands look as though they are struggling to get free from that darn mouse. Excellent in my book.
Great truth, great shot great tone. Would love to have had it cropped a little lower. I like the light in the upper corner but would like it just a LITTLE darker. Still a good solid 7. PTL. I'll have to come back to this one later. Came back after finishing and compared to them all you definitely deserve 2 more points from a 7 to a 9
A superb image. Wonderful concept. Good choices for light and tone. One of my fav fotos of this challenge. Congratulations on such great work...Bullwinkle
This is a powerful image. Seems a little soft on the focus side, but I like the strong b&w colors. Nice message. Good luck in the challenge. This one is in the top 3.
Great message and perfect b/w shot too! Maybe a little bit out of focus? No, if I think a little longer the blur is suitable for your shot... Perfect 10 to me - nds
Great photo and concept. My first reaction was to say that it needed to e more in focus, but the idea works well with the slight fuzzy appearance, very cool! -7-CreativeDotCom
Wow, great idea! Perfect composition. A little "hard" in the contrast for my taste. The white parts become a little outburned, perhaps that is what you want to achieve. Just a matter of taste. But still one of the best this week. Good luck! /carsten
Very good idea! The only thing I can suggest is to have the mouse hang up higher to be able to cut out some of the excess arm there because your lighting gets a little uneven up at the top left corner
Oh my god!!! Love it, love it, love it! I have not gotten a chance to vote on 20% yet, but I already know this gets a 10. Congrats for an awesome capture of what technology does to most of us every day... shedonist 10
