@Deb: Yes, West facing beach, the sun sets over the middle rock. The lights over the jetty are from Huntington and Long Beach. Glow from the right is Newport Beach.
This was meant to be an 18.5 minute exposure, a fishing boat was getting to close to the left frame, so I closed the shutter rather than have the boat trail in to frame. It was cold and I was ready to go home!

I really like how the long exposure makes it seem as though the stars are raining down, it's a very beautiful shot. Congrats on 4th, definitely worthy of a top rank!
Gorgeous spot with what looks to be little man-made light to cause issues. I wanted to shoot here, but there are just too darn many lights in town. I'll have to look outside of town up the coast a bit. Is that the city in the distance?
Good astro shot. The what appear to be wide lines in the water are a bit of a distraction to me. That may be intended as it looks like a regular pattern but I am not sure and it is left as a distracting element.
10 from me. This is gorgeous. I think if had rotated to the left a little for a more interesting composition. But its not like its easy to see what you are doing in the dark :-P. You managed amazing clarity and focus.
