I like your subject and the tonal quality, but for me there's too many cropped-off branches that lead my eye out of the picture

I think the composition is a little weak here. If you look at it as just lines, there is a big thick line across the bottom with a few small lines pointing upward. The big thick line is weighing everything down. Perhaps rotating it vertically would help add some strength to it.
