This shot was a tough one for me. This little girl hardly ever smiles for the camera, so it was a challenge. The only smile I got was when daddy come walking up the sidewalk outside to the front door. She hollered, "daddy's home". LOL...and gave me a smile. Here it is...
The reason why she is looking down is because she is waving the wand at our new little kitten.
I do see the green tones and tried to get rid of them but wasn't able to during the editing of this photo and I didn't have alot of time to start over. Oh well.

i think this is a great photo and deserves much more than even a blue ribbon the photo is absolutely beautiful the only thing bad about it is it didnt get a blue ribbon which is wat it deserves!!!!!!!!!!congradulations though!!!
i am against the majority with this one, and would say that it lacks emotion due to the lack of a background. it looks set up, and over processed. - congrats none-the-less
Repeat after me: Color Studio Portrait. Color Studio Portrait.
Of course it looks set up - its a Color STUDIO Portrait.
Great work Sonifo. This was my top pick for the challenge. The perfect balance of studio control and candid, non-posed subject. (I was pretty sure this was yours when during voting - it has your touch all over it.)

Just wonderful.. subject is placed well in the frame, pink highlights give it a hand-colored feel, high key provides a softness that matches the subject. One of my ribbon picks.
An absolutely outstanding portrait. The "rule" is that the eyes make a portrait, but this is one of those cases where breaking the rules (not showing her eyes) really works. Excellent! I bet she gets her good looks from her mommy, too!
Of course this is the winner! Everything is just perfect. I love the hand colored look, remember when we did it with inks? the light is lovely but that shadow along the back of her face, neck, arm is exquisite. 10
Lighting: Very nice, even and well balanced, light that is giving wonderful skin tones. However, there is a touch of over-exposure in the crown and lower-left gown and the harsh shadow under the chin is not flattering.
Pose: Near perfect. The only think I could recommend would be to raise her head just a bit (diminishing the shadow) and placing her left hand on her lap. On a related note, the tip of her wand seems to be outside your DOF or blurred from motion and is quite distracting from an otherwise well posed shot.
Background: Not much to say about the background. A very (very) light shade of pink would have kept with the theme better, but would have provided much less separation.
I think this is a great potrait. The focus, lighting and exposure are all well done. Perhaps a bit more contrast between the subject and the background would have added more depth to the photo.
Sensational. Beautiful lighting, perfect composition, and the most beautiful fairy princess I have ever seen. That's a photo she should show proudly at her 21st :) 10 This has to be in line for the blue!
This is a sweet portrait! IMO the only improvement would be to tone down the lighting - photo looks washed out. Of course, maybe you were going for a high key image?
Beautifully done photo, great pose. The only thing that maybe you could have done is soften the image a little bit by applying just a teeny lil bit of Gaussian blur. That would have given it a dreamy appearance. 8
Lovely soft potrait. I wish maybe that she was just sligtly more turned towards us so that a bit more of her other shoulder would show. But i really like this just the way it is. Wonderfull colours. Defentatly a top 5.
I think that you should have blured the hair more to fitt with the rest of the image ... but great effect ... would love to learn this ... can maybe teach me after this challenge is over. 9 from me
Absolutely perfect. Even with just the thumbnail, I could tell this was an extraordinary composition. I love the soft pastels and the grey backdrop is the perfect balance to her silver wand. This little girl is an angel and you captured it perfectly. I'll be very surprised if this doesn't ribbon. Good luck!
