 I used a tripod for this photo and used a very slow shutter speed. The subject in this photo, for those of you who are curious is a "Spinaround Ride" K'Nex model I made when I was littler. The light source in the back was just an ordinary flashlight that I filtered with a purple shirt to give it that purple tint.

good idea but I think it would be much improved with more definition from the background and a stronger silhouette

Mysterious indeed as I don't know what this is.. it looks rather ominous :D I love the light effect.
