Early morning at a beautiful calm lake. This is one that I have gone back and forth on, does it qualify . . . ? Usually when I take this chance I get slaughtered but in looking at some of the other challenges I think the beautiful reflection works as a frame to the lake shore.

First impressions are of the lovely smoothness of the reflections in the water.
Technically I think this is good. The sky is exposed well. Composition is good given what you were trying to do.
Artistically the appeal of the colours and patterns is lost on us a little as we have it twice (sky and water). Other than the colours and patterns there isn't much to this shot to comment on.
In summary a good shot that with some cropping would make a good sunrise shot. I do feel that the framing element was lost to many on this though.
I loved this shot and I think it met the challenge well. Imho it seems as though the sky and reflection are framing the shoreline. I think this deserves a second look, posting it on Posthumous Ribbons, Part IV thread.
The frame is much more interesting than the lakeshore. Which is fine in this challenge, I guess. Still, I'd like to see the lakeshore less centered. Makes for a more interesting composition to my eye.
