Title references the song by Abel Meeropol "popularized" by Billie Holliday, originally a poem about lynchings in the American South, before the civil rights movement of the early 1960's changed a nation's approach to the issues of race-based discrimination.

Strange Fruit

Composed by Abel Meeropol (aka Lewis Allan)
Originally sung by: Billie Holiday

Southern trees bear strange fruit,
Blood on the leaves and blood at the root,
Black body swinging in the Southern breeze,
Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees.

Pastoral scene of the gallant South,
The bulging eyes and the twisted mouth,
Scent of magnolia sweet and fresh,
Then the sudden smell of burning flesh!

Here is fruit for the crows to pluck,
For the rain to gather, for the wind to suck,
For the sun to rot, for the trees to drop,
Here is a strange and bitter crop.

I was one of your two 7s......I *almost* did this myself, 'cause I know where there's a pair like this, but I ran outta time so I did a quick throwdown of my boots on the roof of the car. The voters are NUTS!!! LOL!!!

Well, I would like the title better had the shoes been hanging from a tree branch. As far as the photo? You get a thumbs up from me! :-)
