I narrowed my search down to about 10 photos that I were from a different shoot than any of my other entries from last year. I had a few that I really liked, but this one really stuck out to me. I chose it because I feel that this photo shows the personality of the deer and what it is going through. The tick's really stand out to me. I also feel like the tree provides some balance to the photo.

what a cute picture...your colors are great not flat and dull, which I find to be important when processing these animals...and your focus is spot on...
Lovely cute pic and shows the shyness of these animals. The comp works but unsure about the tree if it maybe needs to be out for this frame. Cant help to think what a portrate would have looked like. Both formats has its merits but this tree is just a bit obstructive for me 6
"Does she see me, does she see me?," is what I imagine this deer to be staying as it stays stock still hoping it was not spotted. Love the alert and at the ready stance of this doe waiting for a shadow of a movement from us to then bound away. I almost find myself holding my breath so that I can continue to look at this natural beauty. Wonderfully sharp details captured and the gentle lighting in the meadow are wonderful.
OH MY!!! pekesty is that you?? I adore everything about this one. What a sweetheart. Nice balance with her and the tree. Beautiful DOF. i love this a lot.
