title refers to that one beat after the end of a nice solo stint that ended the piece; audience and musicians seemed to agree that he nailed it. apologies for not getting the names as this was an early set at a club that treats jazz more as backdrop to the bar and dinner crowd - thus usually nyc session players, not "names" - I hope to print this and take it by the club and ask who they are and to give it to them.
There's something about his profile that reminds me of Art Pepper. (Art did occasionally play tenor.) I'll be curious to read who these guys are. Great shot, title adds something too.
I gotta say the expression on the Sax players face doesn't read "nailed it"...or maybe it does? Looks like he was caught more mid thought. It make me wonder if there was a moment, a fraction of a second before or after that would have parried or matched the other players expression with more force.
love the tones in this...I can feel the moment of hesitation in this...you've been able to put me in the room...that's really good...not many can do that...make you part of the picture...
Nice live performance shot. It could have been improved in my opinion by being a bit more head on with your subject. This would enable complete view of the smiling man in the background and a more complete look into the soloists face.
