Thanks everyone for the comments. I realize now that if you monitor isn't calibrated that this shot looks terrible (as seen on my work laptop). Oh well, I like and my wife likes it but I will keep in mind the below details for future shots :)
It's hard to even tell it's a lake, it just looks like a snow covered road!
For me the closest tree blocks a lot of the shot. I suspect there's a tree line there and it would be nice to see them lead into the shot rather than be blocked off at the start. The ice and the path with both lead into the shot also seem to vanish behind the tree, again making it feel like it's just in the way.
Nice composition and framing of the shot naturally by the tree, that said, the side walk on the right is outside that natural frame and is distracting! Also the snow and the tree trunk are underexposed! 4
